August 7, 2006 A new patch for “The Kings of the Dark Age” has been released. The download clears all known bugs in the the game. Moreover some gameplay features are improved. The patch has some 34 MB.

December 5, 2005 The Kings of the Dark Age Patch 1.0 and Demo 1.0 are now available! Patch 1.0 brings the game to version 1.01 and fixes all knowm bugs. Patch is universal and it works on all localised versions of the game.
Demo 1.0 gives you a chance to feel the game and test basic elements and features of the game. Demo 1.0 consists of two versions: English and German version.

June 12, 2005 As you already know, the German version of The Kings of the Dark Age has been released in early May. Other versions are in (final) preparation and we hope that very soon you will have opportunity to buy your own copy of the game. As in The Kings of the Dark Age there is a detail and realistic
model of economy and husbandry, therefore the game has realistic farming model. How much food will your fields and farms grown
depends of many factors. One of those factors is weather. Check out this animation representing Winter.

The Game is progressing great!
We have concluded works on each component of the game except Multiplayer. Most of multiplayer problems
and errors are going to be solved by the end of the month, as well as Matchmaking Server integration
provided by our publisher Zuxxez Ent. from Germany.

Everybody works a lot!
Cateia Games members Kresimir Spes and Ivan Bralic
have spent a very busy summer! That is, they have been working on final improvements on the game in Croatian
ancient coast city Porec. It was very beautiful to work and to relax by the sea and on the beaches.
Currently, they are stationed in another Croatian coast city – Rijeka. As this city is not quite as
beautiful as Porec (Porec is all in all a tourist destination, while Rijeka is more a transport and
before an industrial city), we can say that sea and sun have been replaced with four walls in an
apartment where some "last-minute" features and "make-up" are being developed.
Meanwhile Neven Jotic, Dejan Radic and
Goran Mekota were also busy with music and sound production and Dejan Radic and Matija Budimir are dealing
with marketing of some Cateia Games titles.
We hope that within the next two weeks
the game will be ready for testing! This means that soon – very soon a playable demo version will be released.

The battlefield engine reform
(porting to OpenGL and adapting the engine to ease the development of the multiplayer system) is nearing
completion. We estimate that the battlefield engine will be completed by the end of July 2004. Major bugs
were fixeld, so now, on our computers, battles run at about 300 FPS, instead of 70 FPS as it was before.

Wile the game enters the
final phase (bug testing, quality assurance, etc.) Cateia Games team has made a decision – the battlefield
engine of The Kings of the Dark Age is going to be transferred to OpenGL system. Why is that? That’s because,
our lead programmer has fallen in love with OpenGL. Also, works on battlefield multiplayer has started and
progressing well. There will be LAN connection and matchmaking server as options.

The game soundtrack, under production
of our Crossbow Studio is rather large now and almost completed! There are more than 40 minutes
of European medieval-like songs titled like: "Nordei", "Ancestors", "The King's Fist" etc. All songs have
been produced in high quality stereo technique.
When we speak of music, let us just
mention that on Wednesday 31st of March part of Cateia Games team is going to take a little break and
attend a Willard Grant Conspiracy concert at Zagreb, Croatia. So wish us a great fun.

We've deceided to add 2 more levels to campaign mode of the game (to 3rd chapter) so now there are 17 levels
instead of 15. These two levels are taking place in England, Sussex. More job for you, then!

Finaly, after 12 months of work on
The Kings of the Dark Age battle mode, we can announce - the battle mode of the game now satisfy us!
For now on we hope that we will change just non-essential things on the mode. Multiplyer component is yet
to be done. |
